Twin giant panda sisters were born in Everland, Yongin.
Samsung C&T Resort Division announced on the 11th that Le Bao (10 years old) and Ai Bao (9 years old), who live at Everland Panda World, had twin daughters.
The twin cubs were born at 4:52 am and 6:39 am, respectively, on the 7th, about an hour after the mother, Ai Bao, went into labor.
The older sister was 180g and the youngest was 140g. The ‘eldest sister’ Fu Bao (3 years old), who currently weighs 98 kg, was 197 g at the time of birth in July 2020.

Everland Zoo scientifically analyzed the hormonal change data of the Aibao couple through blood and urine tests, and found a time with a high probability of mating success, and succeeded in natural mating in mid-February.
On the other hand, pandas are known to be difficult to conceive naturally because their fertile period is only once a year, 1 to 3 days in spring. Last month, Everland Zoo saw that Ai Bao was sleeping more than usual and not eating well, and judged that there was a possibility of pregnancy, so it was intensively cared for indoors.
After confirming that Ai Bao showed a behavior pattern similar to that of Fu Bao’s pregnancy in 2020, Everland formed a dedicated team of breeders and veterinarians to provide 24-hour health care to the mother at the same level as the actual pregnancy.
Zookeeper Kang Chul-won, who is known as ‘Fubao’s Grandpa’, said, “I am very happy that twin cubs were born for the first time in Korea after Fubao.”
Everland plans to review the timing of release after intensively managing the twin pandas in Panda World’s inner room without disclosing them to the public for the time being so that they can grow up healthy.
